8/18/2022 - City of West Haven Fire Department Receives Grant For New SCBA Filling Station
“The funding we were just awarded will enable us to replace a 32-year-old Self Contained Breathing Apparatus bottle refill station that includes a 6000-psi compressor, compressed air storage bottles, and breathing air filters to ensure firefighters are provided with reliable, uncontaminated breathing air needed to enter into toxic atmospheres commonly encountered at fire and other emergencies. The current aging system has suffered numerous mechanical failures and is becoming non-cost effective to continually repair it.” - Chief Terenzio
New Public Safety Services Trailer getting geared up for West Fest 2022
The Allingtown Child Safety Seat Team will be at West Fest 2022. The event will take place on September 3rd from 11am to 5pm at Old Grove Park on Palace Street. This will be the debut event for our Public Safety Services trailer which carries car seat equipment, smoke detectors, batteries and other fire and injury prevention materials.
Child Safety Seat Clinic
The Allingtown Child Safety Seat Team will be at the Health, Happiness and Wellness Fair on Saturday, September 17th from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The event will take place on the West Haven Green at Campbell Ave & Main Street.
Come have your child's car seat inspected or installed, no appointment necessary.
West Haven Public Safety & Health Services Expo 2022
On Saturday, October 15, 2022 the Police Department, Fire Department, 911 Dispatchers, Emergency Management and Health Department will host a day of demonstrations and interactive events.
The event will take place at Old Grove Park from 11am to 4pm and will feature the Allingtown car seat team, fire extinguisher demonstrations, the police marine unit, antique fire apparatus, drone demonstrations, a fire prevention trailer/smoke filled room simulator and a vaccination clinic.
